More Loose Dogs

Prospect Park, about 50 degrees but threatening rain.

8:00 A.M.--man walked 2 leashed dogs up Wellhouse Dr. to Peninsula Meadow but unleashed them on the sidewalk beside the meadow. As we will have every opportunity to point out, this illustrates one of the (many) problems with the concept of an unfenced and ungated dog run.

8:05 A.M. large loose dog on lower lookout path at Maryland Monument. A repeat offender.

8::05 A.M. 1 large loose white dog, under no discernible control of its owner, scampering from nethermead to Wellhouse Dr. and then proceeding down drive and into underbrush on right, probably chasing migratory white-throated sparrows.

8:30 A.M. 4 loose dogs grazing behind rink while owner held a fifth on-leash

8:40 A.M. 1 loose dog walking north up path between East Drive and lake.

To this must be added one dog on the sidewalk between the lake and the peninsula meadow, remarkably leashed.
