Slow day today: from about 2:30-3:30 in a small area of Prospect Park, only 3 loose dogs seen. One was at the tip of the peninsula woods, one at the entrance to the peninsula near the lake, and one at the Maryland Monument, heading into the woods. But then we saw only another 8 or so leashed dogs
But we did notice a small DOPR sign at the sidewalk entrance to the peninsula woods (on the left side facing the woods). It said, this is a former forest which we're trying to restore, so stick to the paths, don't break any branches, and don't tear down any fences. What it doesn't say is "leash your dog in this area at all times." Why not? We shall explore a possible reason in a future post.
