Central Park, 3:15 P.M. today

Two unleashed in the Ramble, where dogs must be leashed at all times, in the area birders call Maintenance Meadow. The one owner we saw was a young middle-aged woman, white of course, in a long skirt. Maintenance Meadow is a prime spot for migratory birds feeding on the ground and low bushes and so, in view of yesterday's post, seems to be a singularly appropriate place for unleashed dogs. A guy drove right by in a Central Parks Conservancy scooter. We yelled "hey!" but he didn't stop. But either our yelling or the sight of the scooter prompted the owner to leash the dog.
