Our Comment Policy, Repeated

In addition to being pro-leash, we’re also pro-civility, a quality appallingly lacking in other public internet forums discussing the off-leash policy. As we said before:

our policy is to encourage full and frank--that's diplomatic speak for "I disagree with everything you say"--discussion of the issues raised here. But that discussion, pro or con, must be on-topic, intelligent and polite. Within those guidelines, we have accepted and will continue to accept comments disagreeing with what we say, including comments from those who approve of the off-leash policy. Similarly, we have rejected, and will continue to reject, comments consisting of insults and personal attacks, no matter which side they come from.

In short, we will not publish abusive comments. While you’re welcome to call us racist, xenophobic, homophobic, anti-semitic, etc., if you want your comment published, you’d better back it up with evidence. Also, since we require comments to be on-topic, we will not publish any comments speculating about the blog’s author. It’s irrelevant, and in any event this blog has more than one.
