Loose Dogs in the Snow; 2 Weeks of Loose Dog Sightings

It seems that after the snow last week one of our many inconsiderate off-leash scofflaws with a strong sense of entitlement let his dog loose in the park, but this time someone told him off. He didn't like it. The following online discussion at brooklyn.com resulted. Hat-tip to ChickenUnderwear.
* * *
Yesterday in Central Park, at around 9:05 we saw a small loose white dog exiting the Ramble with its female owner, and fifteen minutes later we saw a large loose brown dog in the Ramble with its owner. Prominently posted signs require dogs to be leashed at all times there.

This morning around 8:10 in Prospect Park we saw a large unleashed brown dog proceeding with its owner from the Nethermead to Wellhouse Drive and then up the slope to Maryland Monument. Fifteen minutes later, we saw Marcia, carrying her usual sharpened stick. and her two loose dogs near the Empire Blvd. exit (see movie above).

And now, to catch up, a couple of weeks worth of loose dog sightings in Prospect Park:

1/2: 10:30 A.M., Marcia and her two dogs at the Boathouse, and another three dogs on the wooded slope adjacent to the boathouse.
1/5: 8:50 A.M.: Marcia and her two dogs east of Nellie's lawn; 9:15: 12 dogs on the Long Meadow.
1/6: At 9:03 A.M., there were still 36 dogs on the Nethermead. There were still 20 at 9:10 and 6 at 9:19, when we left.
1/8: 8:35 A.M., 1 tawny dog in the Midwood; 8:45 A.M., 1 large white dog defecated in the the woods at the Third Street entrance.
1/9: At 2:00 P.M., 1 on the Long Meadow (movie above).
1/12: At 9:11, 18 dogs on the Nethermead
