Coyotes v. Dogs

Two coyotes chased a pair of dogs, one a 95-pounder, last week on the Oakwood Trail in Tennessee Valley in the Marin Headlands, reports Jim Fronk. This is another in a series of coyote-dog incidents, including one full-out fight, that has been reported in the past three weeks in Marin County

A few days ago we chatted with a fellow running for the city council. He said he approved of off-leash hours in "limited areas" and thought that the abuses we've identified could be dealt with through "enforcement". How about this: a couple of coyotes patrolling Prospect Park. That ought to get the dogs back on leash when they should be.
