Dognapping women claim lost terrier as own, leaving Brooklyn doctor dogless, devastated

A Brooklyn doctor has launched a frantic hunt for his missing pooch after little Winston was apparently doggynapped by three women who convinced a cop he belonged to them.

Michael Reinhardt's bizarre tale began Friday night when his West Highland white terrier got spooked by another dog's flashing collar in Prospect Park and scampered off.

We'd guess the dog was off-leash-maybe even legally, if it was after 9 P.M. and if the dog was licensed, which we'd guess it almost certainly wasn't. Cop was from the 78th Precinct--so what do you expect?
