Dogs and Mailmen

According to this article in DNA info.com New York, "Brooklyn and Jamaica, Queens made the U.S. Postal Service's list of the 25 areas in the country with the highest number of dog attacks on mailmen."

And see this article about Isham Park in the Bronx.  It seems that dogs were--informally--allowed to run loose in the park between 9 P.M. and 9 A.M. after several muggings in the park.  The permission has now been rescinded because an unleashed pit bull mauled a leashed dog.  I can't find out when these muggings occurred, but I'll bet it wasn't between sunrise and 9 A.M., when I'll also bet the vast majority of the unleashed dogs show up.  Once again, crime is being used as a cover to ruin the park experience for everyone else.

Here is the follow-up, which suggests that the mauling will be ignored.
